Level 2 Performing arts - week 25🎬

Tuesday 19th March  In our lesson with Kane and Abbie, we focused on the lighting and colour and how they have an important role in film and TV. Thus involves the filming lighting which refers to the direction, source or colour of the atmosphere and also creates a texture or visual impact. We looked at the four main key elements of lighting which are: Direction- refers to the path where the light source comes from. Quality- refers to the intensity of the light. Source- refers to the role of the light. Colour- refers to the colour of the light and what different kind of moods the different colours represent. We also looked at two clips from a film called 'Drive' and how they involved two different lighting atmospheres which gave off different feelings. One where it was giving the look of tense and how it shows that you can only see one bit of light on the characters face. Whereas other scene had the feeling of freedom by giving a warm lighting effect to make the scene feel more ...

Level 2 Performing arts - week 24🎬

Tuesday 12th March   We started to plan out the script look for our news reports and what different ideas we wanted to include so that we knew how it was going to be planed out when we record it. We had to make sure we included in our news report, such as Meaning of Mise en scene, The different camera shots that were used when we did our Film and TV project and the props, costumes and locations that we used along with that. It was also important to make sure that we included the more important focuses in our news reports such as the characters that we play, what their main role is in the actual film and also why we chose the film. The reason we chose 'Halloween' is because it is part of the Horror industry and we also wanted something that would have a good story link to it. Wednesday 13th March We did a warm up with the level 3 students where we did some different exercise and games just to get us warmed up for then. We then watch a little preview of one of their upcoming show...

Level 2 performing arts - week 23🎬

Tuesday 5th March We started to look at some ideas for our news report and how we could include our different scenes fro m our Film and TV in them and also the different shot sizes that were used in the different scenes, such as  Long distance shot and extreme close up. This is to make sure that we have enough information so that when we write our actual scripts for our news reports, we have something to read off when we film us doing our report which makes it more easier We also helped Kane and some of the other people in our course film their scenes along with the Film and TV equipment and the microphones which we had to hold near the person, but not to close so that we are not shown in the shot. We started to filmed some of the first parts of the scene, For example outside where we filmed a scene taken from Harry potter with Laura, Haden and JJackson and also in the cafe where we filmed a scene taken from Wednesday with Bobby, JJackson and Amelia. Wednesday 6th March We started ...

Level 2 performing arts - week 22🎬

Tuesday 27th February We started filming the first couple of scenes in our Film and TV production with Kane where we brought the filming equipment and used some of the shot sizes such as Medium shot and full body shot. We then made sure that the lighting was perfect and that the microphones we had were on us properly so that our voice comes up when we are recorded which makes it easier to hear us. Another thing was when we recorded the scenes, we had to do was to do three different shots in three different places. For example our characters from (Halloween 2018) our characters are in an office first and then it cuts to the three of us walking down the hallway and then a scene of us in the hospital. Overall it was a fun and brilliant thing to film and even tho it did take a few times to get the scene right, we still managed to get the right shot sizes for the right scenes that we needed for our scenes. Wednesday 28th February We started to work on what we are going to do for our news re...
