Level 2 performing arts - week 23🎬

Tuesday 5th March

We started to look at some ideas for our news report and how we could include our different scenes fro m our Film and TV in them and also the different shot sizes that were used in the different scenes, such as  Long distance shot and extreme close up. This is to make sure that we have enough information so that when we write our actual scripts for our news reports, we have something to read off when we film us doing our report which makes it more easier

We also helped Kane and some of the other people in our course film their scenes along with the Film and TV equipment and the microphones which we had to hold near the person, but not to close so that we are not shown in the shot. We started to filmed some of the first parts of the scene, For example outside where we filmed a scene taken from Harry potter with Laura, Haden and JJackson and also in the cafe where we filmed a scene taken from Wednesday with Bobby, JJackson and Amelia.

Wednesday 6th March

We started to plan out the script ideas for our end of the year performance 'Beyond the bloodstain curtain'. We started to write down our ideas on what we wanted for each of our characters to say during the performance. After we got all of our ideas down we started to write down onto paper or on a laptop and tried to make all of them make sense just so that it would work for the scripts. When putting all of our ideas together, it is important that we made sure that every character had a part to say in each scene. For example, in the very beginning of the play when all of the characters are interacting in the group chat, this gives the chance of each character to be introduced to the audience one by one.

Also when planning out the scripts we all decided to place all of our thoughts/ideas into one to make it all into one whole story so that we all knew what each of our characters had a part for in the show.

Thursday 7th March

In our session with our tutor Tom, we focused on thew important impacts of Mental Health and what different types of coping mechanisms can be used to help it and also why it is important to open up about your Mental Health before it all gets to much. For example Mental health and worries is like a bucket of water, the more you fill it up, the more it gets all to much and it will overflow.

The reason why i think it is important to talk about your Mental Health is because once you get it all off your shoulders, you start to get less worried because you've opened up to someone about it all.

Friday 8th March

We looked at some more ideas on what we could include in our script for our performance. So we started to read out what we have already got so far such as The opening group chat with all the characters,  The detective scene where he is working on the murder case and also the plot twist at the end of the performance.

When reading out what we already had wrote down so far in our script, we then tried to practice getting into the physicality of  our characters whilst delivering those lines. We also tried to make sure that when we have finished writing the script, we want to make sure that all the stories will fit in with everyone else's so that it all  makes sense.

Level 2 Performing arts - Week 26🎬

Tuesday 26th March We started to film our news reports with Abbie and Kane where we used the Film and TV equipment and also used a teleprompter that was used behind the camera so that when we recorded our news report, we could see the words behind the camera and we didn't have to read it all off paper. We tried to make sure that we had all the lighting correct when filming this news report and also using microphones so that we could be heard clearly when we were being recorded.  Wednesday 27th March  We started off by doing some warm ups with Kellie and the Level 3 students and also some games so that we could practice our acting skills. We then started to look at what we wanted to do for our futures and what kind of preparations we needed for what course we want to do next. For example Level 3 performing arts would need a monologue where we had to pick one and try to memorise it and do a practice audition whilst saying the lines. For example my monologue was about a poem call...

Level 2 performing arts - week 2 🎬

This week I have learned the movements and lyrics for ‘Revolting children’ from Matilda the musical and also practised the show case rehearsal that I am doing which includes ‘Fatal Beating’ which is a sketch by Rowan Atkinson and ‘Say my name’ from Beetle juice the musical. A few other things that I have learned this week is where about things are in college such as the cafeteria, the classrooms and the toilets so that I know where everything is. The final thing that I have learned this week is that we’re only a few weeks into college so you don’t have to be good at everything straight away and nothing has to be perfect just yet.

Level 2 Performing arts - week 32🎬

Tuesday 21st May  We started to do a run through of our end of year show in the theatre just so we know what it will be like when we do it in there on the actual night. it also gives us the chance to make that we know our lines completely and that we have each prop and costume for our characters including there costumes that they wear in the flashbacks and also what they wear to this years comic con. We also made sure that when we change into a different scene, we make sure that the shifts are done quickly and quietly so that the audience don't have to wait in the dark. We needed to make sure that one each person had a part when we go to a new scene so that they all have a part when moving to a new scene. Wednesday 22nd May We started to get all of our props and pieces of furniture together for our end of year performance and started to paint them in order for them to match the scenery that will be used in the show along with some pictures of the internet that we be projected onto ...
