Tuesday 21st May
We started to do a run through of our end of year show in the theatre just so we know what it will be like when we do it in there on the actual night. it also gives us the chance to make that we know our lines completely and that we have each prop and costume for our characters including there costumes that they wear in the flashbacks and also what they wear to this years comic con.
We also made sure that when we change into a different scene, we make sure that the shifts are done quickly and quietly so that the audience don't have to wait in the dark. We needed to make sure that one each person had a part when we go to a new scene so that they all have a part when moving to a new scene.
Wednesday 22nd May
We started to get all of our props and pieces of furniture together for our end of year performance and started to paint them in order for them to match the scenery that will be used in the show along with some pictures of the internet that we be projected onto the wall which will show each of the characters bedroom where the home scenes will play out one by one.
We also got some head shots taken by Kane for when we finish Level 2 and also so that the students who are going into Level 3 next year will have something for then. With having head shots it will also make us look more professional which will help us with more roles in the future.
Thursday 23rd May
We reacted to a performance from the National Theatre's website called 'The little big things' which was about a 17 year old boy called Henry and it is shown how one accident changed his life but he still managed to archive his dreams. Some of the main focuses about this performance was disabilities and how anything can be possible even if we are all a little bit different. But more importantly it focused on how life can change but you can still accomplish the dreams that you want to make and that we all have something that we want to achieve in this world and how we learn to live with difficulties along the way.
Friday 24th May
We started to do some more rehearsals for our end of year show, but this time we were rehearsing in our theatre in the college and we had to improvise with people reading our lines because we were missing out on quite a few students in our course.
We also made sure that some scenes that we do, we don't do a pause before saying some of the lines which is what they call a 'dramatic pause' which is used to set up a spotlight before a certain character delivers their lines. We needed to make sure that our line were said by our character quick and fast but still ake it look incredibly dramatic.
