Level 2 performing & production arts

  Tuesday 14th May We started to film the other flashback for our end of year performance where Larry wins the competition and we get everyone's reaction to him winning. We had to use the Green screen room in order to film this and had to include Abbie, Laura and Kane as the judges and the ones who announce the winner. We also did another run through of the show and made sure that our characters have the exposition and the volume to make sure that we remember all of our lines. It was important to make sure that our characters could be heard easily and also that after we say our lines we give the audience a chance to react. Wednesday 15th May We were shown one of our flashbacks by Kane which is one of the two flashbacks that will be shown in our end of year show where Larry wins the costume competition from the previous year. Tuesday 7th May  We started to film the first flashback scene where Benjamin pushes Theodore down the stairs for our end of year performance with Kane and Abbie. We first started off by finding the staircase that would be good to film the scene at and then used the right shots such as 'Wide shot and Medium shot'. We put this into three scenes and then put them both together to create the scene, The first part we filmed was Haden's character Theodore walking down the stairs along with my character Benjamin not far behind him, this is when the lights go out and they are both in darkness and then Benjamin bumps into Theodore and then he falls down the stairs, we also managed to get a close up of my reaction when Theodore is pushed. The second scene is when Jay's character Larry whiteness's Theodore being pushed by Benjamin, we then got a close up scene of his reaction when he sees whats happened. Tuesday 30th April We started to do a run through of our end of year show of what we had practised so far and started to look at how we can do the transitions at when there is new scene such as 'who would move what and who would bring the things on stage that would needed to be used for that scene'. We were also reminded to highlight any of our lines in our scripts or any certain parts that have been changed throughout the performance. Another thing that we started to look at was (Film noir) which is what we are going to be talking about in our essay that we have to do. Film noir, which is French for 'black films', is a style of film making characterised by such elements as cynical heroes. It involves the main aesthetics which are: Unbalanced compositions, vertiginous angles, extreme deep focus and wide-angle lenses.
