Tuesday 30th April
We started to do a run through of our end of year show of what we had practised so far and started to look at how we can do the transitions at when there is new scene such as 'who would move what and who would bring the things on stage that would needed to be used for that scene'. We were also reminded to highlight any of our lines in our scripts or any certain parts that have been changed throughout the performance.
Another thing that we started to look at was (Film noir) which is what we are going to be talking about in our essay that we have to do. Film noir, which is French for 'black films', is a style of film making characterised by such elements as cynical heroes. It involves the main aesthetics which are: Unbalanced compositions, vertiginous angles, extreme deep focus and wide-angle lenses. The main key parts of Film noir include: Anti-hero protagonist, Female fatal, Tight concise lighting and also Post war disillusionment.
Wednesday 1st May
When doing more run through's of our end of year show, we tried to read out some of our lines without looking at the script or reading through our lines in the script and then seeing if we can remember what our character has to say. We also changed some of the lines for our motives on where we were during the time of the murder and who we were sitting next to. We then said them one by one just to make sure that they all make sense when we each read them out to the detective.
Another thing that we had to work on when rehearsing this was was the stage direction so that when we do our show, the audience will be able to see all of the characters clearly and non of them would be blocked by others.
Thursday 2nd May
We started to do a lesson on how we could improve more in our lessons and how we could listen more, communicate with each other more and not talk over each other and listen, but also to make sure that we help each other as well and work as a team and to not be judgemental to others.
We also started to work more on our CVS and get our monologues prepared for when we do our auditions or interviews that we are going to be doing in two weeks so that we have something to present for the course that we want to go into.
Friday 3rd May
We managed to get a full run through of the entire end of year show, plus we also managed to practice the final scene where Benjamin and Theodore fight. We put this scene into two parts and then connected them both together to make both parts fit into one whole scene. The first part was when Theodore and Benjamin have their fight scene and the second part is when the detective tries to take the weapon out of Alice's hand. During the fight Benjamin gets knocked into the detective which is then where the twist at the end takes place between Theodore and Benjamin.
We also learned how to the "fake punches" which are used in the end scene and how we could make it seem to the audience that I was getting punched but not actually being punched in the face.
