Level 3 Performing arts - week 3🎬

Monday 23rd September We started off by warming up, where we were introduced to some new games by the second years such as 'Alien, Tiger, Cow and also Elephant, Giraffe and Palm tree which both involved focusing skills along with listening skills. These were all to do with Ensemble which is moving as a group and doing the same thing at the same time. We then got into a circle and had to touch shoulder's with each other, we then all proceeded to jump at the exact same time which took a couple of tries for us to get it right, but once we got the hang of it, it started to create a perfect Ensemble. We then went on to practice for our auditions for the Ghost light tour at Stockton Globe. Me and Imogen who were going to audition for the role as (Bill Sikes and Nancy) from 'Oliver Twist' started to practice our lines by reading through the script and then saying the lines without trying to look back at the script. Level 3 Performing arts - week 2🎬

Monday 16th September   We started the morning off in the Margaret Armstrong Theatre with the second years and did a warm up games, some we knew like for example 'wah', and some that were new to us like 'cat and mouse' and 'chicken in the hut'. We then started to learn about the stage directions and positions which are from the audiences point of view, such as 'stage right', 'stage left' ,'down stage' ,'up stage and also 'stage centre'. This is all to make sure that that there is no blocking between any characters on stage whilst doing a show. So for example, our group was given a goblet and we had to use our imagination which was he main focus of this task, we only had three minutes to come up with 40 different things that you could do with that certain object that you were given. As the objects star...

Level 3 Performing arts - week 1 🎬

Monday 9th September   We started our very first lesson in Level 3 performing arts in our college theatre (Margret Armstrong Theatre) with the second years and playing a few games such as (wah, ninja and splat) just to get us warmed up and get us ready and set for our very first proper lesson. We then started to select a few of the students like for example (4 or 5) and started to put together a scene with just those students. Then the other remaining students would join in and try to be apart of that scene which would expand it into a more bigger scene which has now been created by all of the students. For example, we had to create a scene in a supermarket where some of the students were workers in the shop and then once the others came in, the scene became much more intense because it went from a normal day at a supermarket to a full armed robbery. This shows us that once you are in that scene you have to quickly become any character which would then cause the scene to get moire ...
