We did another lesson with Abbie and Kane on the 'Mise en scene' which the literal meaning 'staging of the stage'. Mise en scene refers to some of the visual elements in a scenes in Film and TV. These elements are performance/actors, costumes, lights and set designs. Mise en scene helps to create the right mood and atmosphere and helps this to be portrayed to the audience. It creates a more engaging, and emotional experience for the audience. After learning about this, we then looked at our scripts and how we would like the components of mise en scene to be for our own scenes. A example is our costumes. For the character the Doctor , we decided he obviously needed to be in a lab coat, not only to show his job but his authority in the facility. For lighting, we want it to be a mid-tone and more on the darker side, but not where characters are difficult to see. We want this type of lighting, to fit the atmosphere of a more eery and uncomfortable setting as they are in a mental institute and it is a from a horror movie.

We did a taster day with the Level 3 actors along with Kellie to see if Level 3 is the right course for us and what we anted to do. We were given two slips of paper, one having an opening line and the other piece having a closing line, we then had to recreate a scene which included those two lines at the beginning and at the end. After that we were taught the game 'Ninja' which to this day i still don't understand. We then sat down with Kelly where she taught us about the reality of Level 3 Performing arts and what its like when they do their shows and performances and when they go on location to film the scenes/shows that they are doing. Overall it was a good experience with the Level 3 actors and definitely gave me some of the confidence and courage that i needed to get into Level 3 performing arts.

We did a tutorial with our tutor Tom on being more mature and started to look more into our future and what it would be like in the next 5 years for us.
The photo below shows what i personally wanted to do in the next five years and how i see my career in the future.
Friday 2nd February
We started to plan out our end of year performance which is a Murder Mystery at a Comic Con. We started the characterisation off by going back to using Stanislavski's methods of given circumstances. I created idea's for the name, background, job, what character they would be dressed as etc. In groups, we then improvised and created ideas for what motives they could be, some ideas for scenes and who could play the murder victim. This brainstorming is always beneficial to produce creative ideas and get a good foundation for the story set. My feeling about this production is definitely excited because its something that I've wanted to do for ages and it gives me the chance to show off my creativity and ideas for when we do this production.
