This week we rehearsed more of the play by doing a run - through of the whole play. We are aiming to finish blocking by the end of this week. It is important so that the play choreography is as smooth as possible and it doesn't look rushed or messy on stage. So far, we are about half way through blocking. As i am playing multiple characters, there are lots of stage directions to learn, and i am finding it easy to learn the stage direction but i believe that i could perform it to a better ability.
On Wednesday, our class will be performing the Beatles tribute at the Globe theatre in Stockton. We are singing the song'You really gotta hold on me'. I am enjoying the rehearsals but also a bit nervous for when we perform on stage in front of the audience. Being on stage is a big part about this course because it gives you a chance to perform what you've created. The performance went okay and i definitely felt a lot more confidence in me after doing the performance on stage in front of an audience.
By the end of the week, we finally managed to complete the stage blocking which means that the entire play is choreographed.I feel liked i have picked up on the stage blocking quicker than i thought i would because i wasn't sure how long it would take me to remember most of it. Now that the stage blocking has finished, we can focus on transitioning between scenes and remembering our lines.
This week we had another resilience lesson which focused on time management and balancing our work load. Time management is important because they include the benefits of greater clarity, greater capability and greater confidence. Good time management also helps you archive bigger goals, reduces procrastination, and increases some productivity. It can also help you have a better work-life balance and gives you a more positive and greater focus and makes things more simpler and easier.
