Level 2 performing arts - week 14🎬

This week, we did some more rehearsals for 'The girl without hands' seen as this was the final week before we do the actual performance in the theatre. This is so we can make sure that we have all of our lines correct and also that we know where our costumes are for when we do whichever character it is that we are portraying. This is important because when you do a set up for a performance that you are doing, you must know where everything is so that once the scene with your character comes on, you know exactly where the costume/props are for that character that you are performing as. We also went to go the Level 3 Actors perform Peter Pan the musical at the Ark in Stockton which was definitely an incredible performance and I can definitely tell that they put a lot of work into that. The same week we saw the performance of  'Miracle on 34th street' by the Level 3 Musical theatre students which was 100% incredible as well. In my opinion, these are definitely two of the b...

Level 2 performing arts - week 13🎬

This week, we completed a group rehearsal of our performance and then received individual and group feedback. We were told that when off stage, we need to be concentrated, not messing about and stay engaged. I also made sure that there is a difference in characterisation between the three characters that i am portraying. It is also important to not rush through lines when delivering them to the audience.  We then managed to do two full run-through's of the play and then received group and individual feedback from both our tutors Tom and Abbie. It is important to get feedback from tutors/teachers because we need to know what kind of things we need to improve on and how we can make the scenes and the characters personality just a little more better. My feedback was to find some appropriate costumes for two of the characters that i am portraying in the play (The dowager queen and the First husband). Another thing to focus on is the volume to make sure that the audience are able to hea...

Level 2 performing arts - week 12🎬

This week we did two full run- through of the play 'The girl without hands'. One of them we did with the script and the other one we did without a script to test to see if we could remember our lines for the  different characters that we are performing as in the play so that we can remember the lines we have for when we do our actual performance. How i remember to recall these lines is by saying them in my head multiple times until i finally get the full line and also by writing them down to remember them so that i don't forget. We also got our feedback from our tutor Abbie about how we did in our performance that we did so that we know what we need to improve to our characters for when we next rehearse it. This is also important to remember so that when we play more characters in the future, we can have more feedback so that we can learn how to improve which ever character that we are portraying in that show/performance. Another thing we started to do was create some props...
