Level 2 performing arts - week 7 🎬

This week we did more warm ups with the level 3 students and then started to rehearse on When I Grow Up from Matilda the musical.  We then started to work on our talk back to our tutor and then proceeded feedback from them on what we need to focus on more and work on. I focused on theatre directors and lighting technicians. We also had to change the moves to Revolting Children because some students were not in so we had to change the choreography. This is important to do as certain people were missing partners and to make sure it all looks good when performing it.  The main reason to work on choreography is so that you can create a powerful evocative, and communicative movement sequences. We then worked on our showcase that we performed which includes Thriller, Beetle juice and Fatal Beatings by Rowan Atkinson. Level 2 performing arts week 6 🎬

We started by doing some vocal and movement warm ups with the level 3 acting students, as this is the course we are aspiring to go onto next year, so warming up with them is great. One of the specific types of warm ups we did focused on was arpeggio. An arpeggio is going up and down singing scales. This is beneficial in pitch training. Below is an example of the Arpeggio scales we do to warm up. We then looked more into performing the entire showcase. This is important before you do your actual performance so that you don't mess up any lines or and movements that you are doing during your performance. Throughout the week we started looking at transitioning between acts. Transitions is the process of moving between different acts or in our case performances. For example, for my sketch i will need a table and chairs. So we began to plan how the transition will form and who will bring the props on. We also played some improv games such as 'park bench'.
