Level 2 performing arts - week 3 🎬

This week I have learned the some more of the movements to Matilda the musicals ‘Revolting children’ and we are also trying to do the movements and singing to it as well. Before we dance or sing, we make sure to do warm ups so that we warm up our voice. Its important because it helps you to get physically prepared and also preventing injury. Similarly vocal warm ups also help you to sing and prevent injuries as well. In relation to choreography, we were looking at stage placement. Stage positioning which is also referred to as stage blocking is the process of placing performers in a specific space. It is important that people don't bump into each other and  that the audience can see whats happening. I also started to look at blocking in my sketch with Oliver. We also looked at 3 different versions of Revolting children from Matilda the musical so that we can get inspiration and ideas for our own performance. As you can see in the video, this is how we chose to stage the choreography...

Level 2 performing arts - week 2 🎬

This week I have learned the movements and lyrics for ‘Revolting children’ from Matilda the musical and also practised the show case rehearsal that I am doing which includes ‘Fatal Beating’ which is a sketch by Rowan Atkinson and ‘Say my name’ from Beetle juice the musical. A few other things that I have learned this week is where about things are in college such as the cafeteria, the classrooms and the toilets so that I know where everything is. The final thing that I have learned this week is that we’re only a few weeks into college so you don’t have to be good at everything straight away and nothing has to be perfect just yet.
